TATS Crew
More than 25 years ago, three teenagers started tagging TATS CRU on the streets for the first time. This mythical Bronx graffiti artists’ crew has revolutionized the graffiti world and gained an international reputation for it. Best known for the perfect combination of color lettering and the science behind they have become mural professionals. Tats Cru’s works were featured as a part of the opening of URBAN NATION Museum in 2017. They take part in the exhibition “Love Letters to the City”, 2024-2027.
After giving letter tags a new shape TATS CRU composed of Wilfredo Feliciano (Bio), Malmène Nazario (Nicer) and Sotero Ortiz (BG183) has produced various adverts for small businesses as well as for big corporations. They are the creators of NY’s memorable murals and because of their strong connection with the rapper Fat Joe they have created his billboard albums in the 90s. Additionally they have created artwork for musicians like Nikki Minaj, Missy Elliott, Metallica, Big Pun, Jennifer Lopez, Rick Ross, DJ Kool Herc, Nas amongst others. Moreover they are the ‘guilty’ party for creating the Big Pun memorial wall in the Bronx. It is their experience and science behind lettering and color that made them an influential party in the graffiti scène, changing its perception from vandalism to genuine art.
