William Pinçon, known as ZENOY, comes from the western suburbs of Paris. Heir to the technique of writing, he discovered graffiti at the end of the 80s through one of his classmates who, freshly returned from the United States, was scribbling tags on his course sheets. Instantly caught in the cracks, he quickly found his first joker, Awaysun, which he began to graffiti in the streets, on the trains and on the buses taking him to school in 1988.
Zenoy is a pure writer. The essence of his art comes from the street and vandal writing which he now transposes onto canvas. His style is increasingly in demand in the art market. Despite everything, his metronome remains graffiti and letters. His urban birthplace does not prevent him from taking typography to new horizons. Seeking to harmonize colors and shapes, he draws inspiration from personal experiences to breathe new life into his productions.
His style today fits perfectly into the landscape of contemporary urban art: between tradition and innovation. With his instinctive and incisive line, he brings his typographies into a mixture of explosive colors and play on materials. He tirelessly reinvents himself, taking graffiti ever higher; in particular by diversifying its supports: walls, canvases, mailboxes and even art toys are now part of its artistic sanctuary.
